It is the end of 2009 and yet again I have the daunting task of sifting through countless essays, pictures and reports to select the most appropriate exhibits to represent this year’s College activities.
In his first prize giving address in October 1994, Mr Cartwright rightly stated that “Educationalists come second only to farmers in our fear of change”. We feared the change-over from one headmaster to the next, but we as staff have never backed down from a challenge or opportunity, so we lived up to his expectations of us with charm and grace. Mr van Vuuren were welcomed by most with open expectations and by the end of the year we have accepted the change-over with great peace of mind.
It is true that the Matric group of the school determines the character of the place and I have to thank this year’s group for making my time here at College really pleasant this year. After all the trouble of the past few years, it was a welcome relief, and I wish you all the best of luck.
2010 is a big year for South Africa, but an even bigger challenge for the schools, matriculants and Matric teachers especially. We all pray that the World Cup will be a success and that our matrics swill survive the year’s academic pace. Best of Luck for everyone in 2010.
“Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honour and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever Amen!” Revelation 7:12
